Maya Hair and Fur Shader for render passes

Inpyo3d has made us an excellent tutorial on how to plug shaders into Maya hair and fur some time back.

This is extremely useful as we often need render passes out of Maya for further compositing but the default shading does not contribute to the render buffers.

Basically, use the mel command:
addAttr -ln “miExportMaterial” -at bool -defaultValue 1;
addAttr -ln “miMaterial” -at message ;

on the furfeedback or pfxHair transform node to activate the exporting of a mental ray shader, so that we can use connection editor to plug the “message” attribute of any mental ray shading group to MiMaterial.
