Bombay Rose (2019) trailer
My first film caught at Singapore International Film Festival – Bombay Rose.
Digitally painted every frame, I could see the blood-sweat-tears put in by the animators to this film. Perhaps due to the difficulty of the technique, the animation isn’t as smooth throughout. The storytelling is slightly on the monotonous side as the arc does not rise much (not all beats move the story forward), and I could observe that not many in the audience emote to the death of some characters in the film. It does however gives the audience a window to Bombay and its culture, and occasionally takes advantage of morphing techniques to bring out certain characters and scenes.
